The mission of North Gwinnett Middle Media Center is to promote reading for pleasure and information. Technology, informational literacy skills and curriculum are taught to support both the Georgia Performance Standards and Academic Knowledge and Skills. The purpose of the media program is to provide services to all students and teachers and to create lifelong readers and knowledge seekers.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

CONGRATULATIONS!  NORTH GWINNETT MIDDLE SCHOOL HAS DONE IT AGAIN WITH MEETING OUR GOAL FOR OUR SPRING CARNIVAL BOOKFAIR!

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and to our community for all your support.

Visit your public library this summer.  For more information on their summer activities, click here:  Gwinnett Public Library.

The purpose of the media center is to help and encourage students in their reading, writing and research skills.   We are dedicated in helping each student to find reading selections that are interesting to him or her.  Parents and teachers, please encourage your students to reach the following curriculum standards.  The reading Across the Curriculum standards focus on the academic and personal skills students acquire as they read in all areas of learning.  The first standard states that…

“The Student reads a minimum of 25 grade-level appropriate books or book equivalents (approximately 1,000,000 words) per year from a variety of subject disciplines.  The student reads both informational and fictional texts in a variety of genre and modes of discourse, including technical texts related to various subject areas.”
