Science Online Textbook Instructions

1. Go to the web site my.hrw.com.

2. Log on to the website using your student’s username and password.

3. Click on “Go to interactive online edition” under the picture of the textbook for the grade level.

4. Click on the first drop down box at the top left of the page that says, “Select a unit or chapter.”

5. Click on the second drop down box that says, “Select a section.”

6. Click on “Go” beside the second drop down box.

7. This should take you to the page for the chapter and section you have chosen in the textbook.

8. Notice the 3 red tabs at the top of the page (book pages, eActivities, Student Resources).

9. Click on the “eActivites” tab and it will take you to all the eActivites for that chapter.

10. The eActivites tab is where you can find the Textbook Audio that will read the textbook to the student as they follow along in English or Spanish.

11. Visual Concepts under eActivites show short clips or visuals that help explain concepts in each section.

12. Concept Maps in the eActivities section show students how vocabulary words from the chapter are related.

13. Virtual Investigations in the eActivities section lead students through virtual labs to help reinforce concepts from the chapter.

14. The Lab Video in the eActivities section walks students step-by-step through lab activities to help reinforce material in the chapter.

15. The Student Resources red tab at the top of the page has resources broken down by section as well as resources for special needs students and Spanish resources. Some worksheets assigned by teachers can be downloaded and printed from these resources if a student leaves it at school or looses it.
